Our Practice Areas

Our Clients are condominium corporations, businesses, and not-for-profit corporations of all sizes and in all stages of growth, and individuals. Our roles range from serving as outside general counsel advising clients in the areas of condominium, human rights, labour and employment, tax, securities, and wills and estates law, as well as elder law and litigation matters including arbitrations.
The Harris Gwynne Law Firm's focus on condominium and corporate law allows us to cultivate a keen understanding of the needs of our condominium and corporate clients and a superiour understanding of the teds and issues facing corporate and condominium corporations, and their boards of directors. The background and experience of our lawyers allows us to have an in-depth understanding of the financial matters affecting our clients and providing us with additional insight in both advising our clients adn in preparation for litigation should this become necessary.

We have continued to grow our practice in the condominium law area and we are endeavouring to become one of the leading condominium law firms in the GTA and Golden Horseshoe. Our immediate goal is to provide our clients with professional, friendly service on a timely basis at a reasonable cost. We continue to increase our involvement in the condominium community and our industry associations. Both Sally and Michael believe in giving back to our industry and our clients. We are available, free of charge, to provide group presentations to property managers and/or your clients on various topics of interest.

Sally Harris has practiced in condominium, corporate, real estate, and wills and estates law, for over 16 years.

Michael Gwynne has been a lecturer for the Advanced Condominium Course for Directors and Managers offered by the Conodminium Institute, has written for the CCI CondoVoices Magazine and Miller Thomson LLP's "Let's Talk Condo", is an active participant with the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario Communications Committee, has moderated seminars and roundtable discussions at ACMO/CCI annual conferences, and has spoken at ACMO luncheons.
Sally Harris

Sally graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1993 and articled with Pacey, Deacon, Spears & Fedson. An Associate Member of ACMO, Sally was called to the Bar in 1995 and was an associate lawyer with the well known condominium law firm Deacon Spears Feson & Montizambert from 1995 to 2006. In 2006, Sally opened her own firm in York Region practising in all areas of condominium law including reciprocal agreements and the mediation and arbitration of cost shareing disputes, as well as corporate, real estate, estate and elder law.
Michael Gwynne
B.A., M.B.A., C.P.A., C.G.A., LL.B., LL.M. (Tax)
Prior to being called to the bar in 2005, Michael spent a number of years in public accounting and taxation with an international accounting firm, and was previously employed by the Ontario Securities Commission in the Registrant Legal Services Group.

Michael graduated from Queen's University Law School in 2004 and articled with Deacon Spears Fedson & Montizambert. In addition to his Bachelor of Laws degree and his Masters of Laws degree in Tax from Osgoode Hall Law School, Michael also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Queen's University, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, and a Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation. While at Queen's University Michael was the recipient of the Stikeman Elliott/Carswell National Tax Award and the David Sabbath prize in Taxation.

Prior to entering into association with Sally Harris to start The Harris Gwynne Law Firm in October 2010, Michael articled with and was an associate at Deacon Spears FEdson and Montizambert for over four years and was subsequently an associate at Miller Thomson LLP for almost two years.

Michael has practised extensively in the condominium law area and has also practiced in the areas of civil litigation, corporate and commercial law, securities law and has been involved in a number of mediations. In addition to litigation experience, having appeared before both the Superior Court of Ontario and the Divisional Court, as well was numberous tribunals, Michael has acted for clients in various shareholder disputes, tax matters, securities law matters, share purchase transactions, mediations, contract reviews, by-law and contract drafting, enforcement matters, and construction deficiency litigation.
